Why This App Exists
If there was ever a moment when the people of God needed a biblical roadmap for financial health, it is right now. The financial pressures bearing down on American families in this era are unlike anything most of us have experienced in our lifetimes — and the numbers tell a story that demands an urgent response.
Approximately half of all Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. About 34 percent — roughly 88 million adults — describe themselves as either struggling or in outright financial crisis. One in three Americans has no emergency savings whatsoever. And a full 59 percent lack sufficient savings to cover even a single $1,000 emergency expense without going into debt.
Think about that last number for a moment. A flat tire. A broken water heater. An unexpected medical copay. For most Americans, a single ordinary setback is enough to tip the household into a financial emergency. And it is getting worse, not better. Consumer prices are more than 26 percent higher than they were just five years ago, while wage growth for lower-income workers has barely kept pace — leaving millions of families running faster just to stay in the same place.
Financial stress has also become a health crisis. Research shows that 71 percent of Americans experience moderate-to-extreme financial stress. This stress is not just emotional — it is physical. It costs people sleep. It costs them productivity. It costs them relationships. It costs them years of their lives. And within the church, it costs believers the peace, the freedom, and the generosity that God designed financial health to produce.
This is not a statistics problem. This is a crisis of financial wisdom, financial values, and financial foundations — and it is happening right now, in our neighborhoods, in our families, and in our churches. The people of God are not exempt from this crisis. They are deeply embedded in it. And God's Word has the answer.
